1000HP Big Turbo LS Swapped Nissan Pickup vs. 1000HP Cadillac CTS-V – Drag Race

January 26th, 2023

Here we are again at the Hoonigan testing grounds in sunny Cali. A pair of purpose-built street racers have shown up to prove their worth on the big stage. We join the smack talking – already in progress.

Turns out that Jason’s sweet Caddy has a massive red supercharger protruding through the hood. That’s a Kong 2650 sitting on top of a 416 cubic-inch mill with a set of Frankenstein cylinder heads. As it sits today, this thing is capable of producing 1,000hp at the rear wheels. The transmission is stock Caddy, and the rear end has only been modified with stronger axles. Inside, the Cadillac has all the luxurious amenities that one might expect to find. Only the racing seats and safety harnesses give the sleeper away. The exhaust has also been modified and it sounds great.

For all the style and sophistication in the right lane, the 1995 Nissan Hardbody (in the left lane) offers unbridled enthusiasm and raw power. It’s obviously a turbo LS swap. The engine is an all-aluminum 5.3-liter, and it has a stock bottom end. The bargain basement camshaft if from Amazon and the valve springs are PAC. The TH400 transmission is built to handle power but make no mistake – this is a budget build. Lot’s of scrap parts and the engine is pieced together from takeoffs. Nevertheless, this truck can turn 1,000whp on any given day.

Time to turn these monsters loose and see what jumps off.
