Even in factory trim, the Gen II Viper GTS is a formidable opponent. With its massive 8.4-liter V10 engine, short-throw manual transmission, and racing suspension, the Viper is capable of tackling the strip or track. The feature vehicle of this video has also added a 106-millimeter turbocharger and all that entails (intercooler, piping, etc.). Output is now estimated in the 1,000whp range.
When it comes to working the kinks out of a new build, slow and steady is definitely the best pace. You really don’t want to get in a hurry and over stress something to the point of failure. On the other hand, it’s also difficult to remain patient and allow the car to “come to you”- as opposed to forcing the issue. It’s sort of like training a horse.
