One week before Pikes Peak International Hill Climb Event... Carl Fausett getting a little dirt practice time with the GWS. A wuote from Carl himself:
"The local owner of the ½ mile oval clay dirt track let me in to get some practice with these tires on dirt before Pike's Peak . I had plenty of power, in fact, in the straights, I could not get more than half my throttle down without throwing a rooster tail. If you look, you can see the stripes in the dirt where I had lit them up. Unfortunately, they had not groomed the racetrack since the Sunday night races were held. The ruts in the turns were 4 to 5 inches deep in spots -- keep in mind I only have 2.5" of ground clearance! See if you can see when the rearview mirror was shaken right off the windshield!"
