The Mustang is wasting rubber and motor. My NO-E footbraked T/A has a Pontiac 455, TH400, 3.89 rear gear. This is all the burnout I ever had to do for 1.2* 60 ft. Put it in 2nd gear (it starts in first and shifts to second at 6000), no line-lock, just past the water. Hit the throttle quickly, keep the revs up, just a few seconds is all it takes. Very little tire smoke makes the slicks last. Too much heat makes the rubber too soft and may spin worse than no burnout. My friend shot this with an Olympus digital camera.
