2004 Ford Mustang Cobra 1/4 mile Drag Racing timeslip specs 0-60
(mk028)
hey bro, im sure the answer to my question is on your page but i dont know a lot about after market abbrevations and parts. I have an 04 cobra and i wanted to know if you kept your IRS or you went with a solid rear. Also, I am going to do the supercharger swap and i was woundering why you choose to go with the whipple instead of a kenne bell. Any reason in particular? I have it narrowed down to those two superchargers and dont know which one to go with.

Hey sorry I took so long to answer but DSS stands for Drive shaft shop, which is the company that makes the axles for the IRS. AS far as why I choose Whipple, it's almost a coin flip but I bought a whipple because of price. I bought it for 2950.00 shipped which is a great deal but I think both blowers are very good and you couldn't go wrong with either. But if you plan on spinning the blower 20+ lbs of boost I would recommend the 2.8L from KB or the soon to be released 3.4L Whipple. I hope this helps.

I have one last question for you if you have the time to answer it I would appreciate it. I have an 04 cobra with catback exhaust, sct tuner, spark plugs upgrade, cold air induction, lower pulley upgrade, i dont remeber which size, short throw shifter, and drag radials. I am currently getting my supercharger ported and the throttle body upgraded. i just couldnt afford to do the whipple or kenne bell. My question is what should I do next. Should I do headers? Or should I do the fuel upgrade tune. in az the best fuel you can get is 91 octane so should I buy the additive to get either 96 or 101 octane. Or should I do something with the suspention? I have no idea which route to go with next. Thank you for your time.----Mike. Hope you have happy holidays.

Ok I wouldn't do headers at this time until you see how your car reacts to the ported blower. I ran a 2.93 upper and 4 lbs lower pulley and I ended up have to do alot of fuel supporting mods such as 60lbs injectors and Boost-a-pump. But first thing is to check out your mass air meter. They usually peg at about 460-500 rwhp. Second thing is to get a custom tune built for the mods for your car if you haven't already. Also if you can give me a full list of mods on your car. If you have a upper pulley on your blower that changes everything. Anyways let me know how it goes.

I was braking during a bracket race on a 10.8 dial in. That's the reason for such a low trap speed.
