2005 Ford Mustang GT 1/4 mile Drag Racing trap speed 0-60
(nick)
That is a horible time. I ran a 13.81 with 2 people in the car at Great Lakes Dragway with no mods and 20000 on the stock air filter. you need to rev. it up to 2500 dump the cluch and smoke the tires off the line other wise it will fall on its face, Also trun of the TCS. Also Skip all of those crap up grades and put some better tires on it, At least a 315 in the back and new traction bars. That should cut your 60 ft to a 1.8 or better and your 1/4 down to a 13.4. Then buy a chip, and skip the headers and just put on a cat delete x-pipe it is only 1hp less then what you have for possible upgrades, and 1000 dollars cheaper.

Thanks for the info, but i do know how to race at the track or anywhere else. not being mean either. 3rd mustang, and had a Lightning and ran those at the track. but..first time with a stang that had a hydraulic assisted clutch, i do know to rev it alot higher, more than 2500 also. and i don't dump the clutch, i'll spin all day, i know how to slip it and make it stick with minimal spinning. That night, could only do 3 runs . First run was a low 14, getting use to it, 2nd and 3rd were high 13's and i left knowing i could do alot better, but had to leave. Also what drag way lets you have passengers, i've never heard or been to one that's not that anal about it. So far the crap upgrades are making my car feel alot stronger and the 05's and up respond to them alot better than previous stangs. Can't get a chip for these but can get a tuner with custom tunes on it, which will be soon and a must. Long tubes and a mid pipe = alot more HP then just a mid pipe. Thank you for the info and when i go back, i'll do alot better...even on street tires.

Just my 2cents worth, but I would not put longtubes on a daily driver. Not that much difference from short tubes, but a pain in the butt ddraging on everything, plus not an easy install. Toi me the quickest help you could get on your car would be change the rear gear to a 3.73, and get some struts, & coil overs, plus tires for traction. MT ET streets are great. The 4.10's are great for automatic, but 3.73 for manual is good enough, and not as much inconvience on the street. 4.10 will help though. Just my openion for what that is worth. Have fun, & good luck.

Those 4.30's will prevent the use of nitrous off the line, unless you get some big ass slicks on that bitch. Nice car. Dont listen to anyone on here (including myself, maybe?) keep modding your car and have fun. I just might have to pony up and get a 05-08 GT myself to replace the 97 Cobra as my \

True on the 4.30's. I plan on hitting the nitrous in 3rd gear and hoping the 4.30's will be enough without nitrous. a 97 Cobra is sweet to have though. Thank you on the comment.

When I get back to the states in 2009, will add a Whipple HO SC and Long tube headers, later will get a built shortblock.
Car also has Aluminum Radiator and 160 Stat.
Dyno'd but people say it should dyno alot more that that. An 05 that has the same mods as me dyno'd 347rwhp, another that has PP heads dyno'd 390rwhp. Calculators say that at my weight and rwhp, i should run a mid 12(perfect 60') at 104mph, If i put my weight and my trap speed, it calculates 366rwhp, but i would assume around 10-15rwhp off/less. who knows.
The DR's were used when i bought them and the 99 Cobra rims. Couldn't pull off a good 60' and when i shifted to second, i would still spin them pretty good. Nitto's suck, i'm definitely getting some more MT's when i get back.
