Evan, I am considering the purchase of the GT500. The car review magagizes (known to be somewhat unreliable) claim 12.8-13.4 quarter mile times for stock vehicles. What is the proper way to launch this car to run a 12.257?

I don't think his launch got him a 12.2, more likely his shifting. His 60 ft was 2.1, that's not considered great by any means.

You're right. The question comes down to this: If the GT500 is capable of such quick times, why have auto journalists been unable to achieve these times in their test vehicles?

I don't know, but the car is just a pulley swap and tune away from much better times. change the blower to a 3.4L whipple and the sky's the limit.
