Fiat Coupe 20v Turbo vs Corvette Z06 - Drag Race Santa Pod
Even though I just missed out on the win it was still worth documenting :) The Corvette Z06 is the latest and greatest in the long line of true American muscle. Packing a 7 litre LS7 V8 producing 505bhp, the Z06 will do sub 4 second 0-60 and 8 second 0-100!
So it's a blown 2 litre Italian Stallion FWD vs 7 litres of American Muscle RWD! Both our cars can do an 11 second quarter but too much gas off the line bouncing on the limiter leaves the Z06 ahead at the 60ft, 3rd gear starts to real him in but by this time it was too late and the victory goes across the pond :)

Fiat Coupe 20v Turbo :: Castle Combe - Eurofest 2007
Footage from two sessions at the Eurofest 2007 event at Castle Combe race track. The first session I forgot to check the tyre pressures so suffered from more understeer. The second session the brakes started to fade which was due to the drivers side having no friction material left at all on the outer pad!!!
Combe is a little bumpy but a very fast circuit :) All good fun with lots of different cars on track ranging from Ford, BMW, Honda, Golf, Saab, Vauxhall, Seat, Lotus Elise...

Fighting Torque 2007 - Supercar Drag Race
This is the inaugural Fighting Torque drag racing event held on August 12th 2007. A selection of the fastest factory cars in the world competing in a 3/4 mile drag race at Wattisham Airfield. Instead of the usual 1/4 mile format, the three quarter mile helps negate driver ability especially at launch and simply measures outright grunt and speed.
A handful of modified "street" cars were there for comparison one of which is a Fiat Coupé 20v Turbo. Despite having fueling problems in 5th gear thus limiting the engine to only 6800rpm instead 7800rpm, the Coupé managed a 25.8 @ 156mph... all through the front wheels!
